Our Choctaw Casinos & Resorts Getaway
With baseball season underway, it was the perfect time for a getaway! I’ve heard of Choctaw Casinos & Resorts for years since they are a huge partner of the Rangers, so it was about time I made my way up there to check it out. Plus, it’s only an hour and a half from Dallas! Here’s a recap of what Pierce and I did while we were there and our favorite things about the brand-new Sky Tower that opened in Summer 2021.
FRIDAY
We drove up around 3 and made it up around 4:30 or so and checked in. The property is HUGE! The first thing we noticed is how clean everything was and that the Sky Tower area was non-smoking. Once we checked in and looked at the view from 17 floors up, we got ready and went to 1832 Steakhouse for dinner.
We got wine, steaks, the lemon parm asparagus, mushroom risotto (chef’s kiss) and of course we had to get creme brulee for dessert! Then, we went to the casino for a bit and explored the property more before bed.
SATURDAY
We grabbed Starbucks after waking up - yes they have two locations on the property! Then we got ready and headed down to our pool cabana. AQUA is their brand new pool area, with a swim up bar, DJ, food, drinks and so much more! We had such a blast spending the afternoon in the sun and relaxing by the pool. Then we grabbed dinner downstairs at Salt and Stone and got ready for the Brett Young concert! Choctaw’s concert venue is one of my new favorites, it felt so intimate and close to the stage. The acoustics were also incredible and it was easily one of my favorite concerts.
SUNDAY
We woke up and grabbed Starbucks again and breakfast at Salt and Stone. Then we packed up, loaded up the car and went to The League to watch the Rangers / Astros game and the PGA Championship. Then we went to a Q&A with Rangers legend, Nolan Ryan and headed back to Dallas!
