Fredricksburg Weekend Itinerary
A few weekends ago, Pierce and I headed to Fredricksburg, TX with my BFF Abby and her boyfriend Alex – and y’all, we had the best time ever! I had no idea what to expect, but after consulting some friends who had been before and wandering around, we put together the perfect weekend itinerary and I wanted to share it with all of you! Here’s how it went:
FRIDAY
· We packed up the car and left Dallas around 2pm and made it to Fredricksburg around 6:30. We stopped a few times and hit some traffic, but overall the drive wasn’t terrible!
· We checked into our adorable AirBnB and got ready for dinner. If you’re getting an AirBnB, you’ll want to make sure it’s close to the Main Street since that’s where pretty much everything is
· We went to Pasta Bella for dinner (a cute and casual Italian place) then we went to 78624 for drinks and a round of Cards Against Humanity. It was such a cute bar we just happened to walk into and we all loved it!
· Our last stop was Velvet Lounge – the most iconic karaoke bar I’ve been to. Most places in Fredricksburg close around 9 or 10pm, but Velvet stays open ‘til 2am. We had A BLAST! We even got up and sang (twice) and the crowd was tons of fun. It was packed back to back nights so I recommend getting there at a decent hour before the line doesn’t get too long. Oh, and bring cash for the cover charge!
SATURDAY
· We woke and went to Sunday XXX for coffee and picked up brunch from Hill and Vine which was right next door
· We went on the Cable Car Wine Tour and it was tons of fun! Plus it was a great way to get around so everyone could enjoy the tastings and not have to worry about driving
· We went to four stops on the wine tour and each one was so unique. My favorite was Wedding Oak!
· That night, we went to Sage for a cheese board / drinks and then back to Hill and Vine for dinner
· Of course, we had to stop by Velvet Lounge again and the line wasn’t too bad! It was the best people watching and we had tons of fun watching everyone sing their hearts out. Shout out to the guy who tried out an MGK song…emphasis on tried :)
SUNDAY
· We packed up and went to Hill and Vine for the third and final time (lol) before we hit the road
· We stopped by the BuddyLove brick and mortar store right off of Main Street and it was adorable! They had so many fun pieces and bright colors, plus they do a lot of awesome sales and events as well
WHAT I WISH I KNEW:
· Ubers can be hard to find or farther away if you’re in a time crunch, so I’d recommend either scheduling rideshare or finding a ride service ahead of time. We would highly recommend Brian, the Redneck Chauffer
· Everything closes pretty early which was to be expected, but I wouldn’t bank on a big bar scene (although Buc’s and Velvet Lounge were the popular late night spots)
· Book a wine tour online ahead of time instead of trying to drive around on your own, that way no one has to worry about driving and can enjoy themselves. We really wanted to try the Safari one but it was sold out, so we’ll have to try that next time!
· How good Reese’s blizzards from DQ are…we stopped on the way back to Dallas and I would highly recommend adding it to your road trip list
If you’re lucky enough to go to Fredricksburg, have the best time and let me know your favorite spots! XO
