Our Engagement Story

I SAID YES! Pierce and I are over the moon excited to start this next chapter in our lives together and December 19, 2021 will be a day we will always remember. I’ve been getting tons of questions so I opened up a Q&A on my IG Story for those of you who want to know everything that happened on our special day & what led up to it!

Congrats! Did you know?

Thank you! I was 1000% surprised! Pierce told me that he was hunting in South Texas, he even turned off his iMessage so all of his texts were going through green because he usually doesn’t have any service when he’s there. I still can’t believe so many of my friends and family members knew and no one slipped up!

What were you doing before it happened?

I went to brunch with one of my best friends Caleigh who I hadn’t seen in awhile. Afterwards, we went to Main Street Seal Beach (where I grew up) to meet up with my other BFF Tabi! We walked around, took pictures, went into shops, etc. for a few hours. Then, Tabi said she wanted to check the tires on her car to make sure she wasn’t getting towed and BOOM! there Pierce was. I was so surprised to see him standing right there!

Where did he do it?

I’m from Seal Beach, California and it has always been a special place to us throughout our relationship. We love walking from my parents house, down Main Street to get coffee and to the end of the pier. It has the prettiest view of the beach! He flew out from TX to surprise me and he proposed at a park right next to the pier where I grew up! Then, we took pictures on the beach after he popped the question!

Did you expect it?

Not at all! I couldn’t have been more clueless lol!

What was your level of surprise?

735264534 out of 10! It was the most surprised I’ve been in my life.

Are you moving back to California?

No! I will be staying in Dallas and Pierce will be moving here. :)

How did you meet?

We met in leadership camp in high school (shout out LeadAmerica!) and kept in touch over the years. It’s the nerdiest story out there but no one else has anything like it!

Where will the wedding be?

Dallas!

How did the conversation go before he asked?

I don't really remember, we both blacked out! I do remember saying “what are you doing here?!” a few times and he told me he was going to move to Dallas. Then before I knew it he was on a knee! I also looked over and saw my BFF Audrey in the bushes which was a funny moment we’ll remember forever!

Will Barkley be the ring bearer?

I sure hope so! Barkley and Pierce are the best of friends.

Is Pierce moving to Dallas?

Yes! We are so excited to finally be in the same place and start the next chapter of our lives together.

What about the planning process are you the most excited about?

There are so many! Looking at venues, trying on dresses, picking out flowers, asking my best friends to be bridesmaids, and the list goes on. I’m also so excited to taste test food and CAKE!

What did you do after to celebrate?

After we were done taking photos, we went back to my parents house which was a few minutes away. I kept telling P I was so excited to FaceTime our friends and families to share the good news! Little did I know that they were all at my parents house to surprise us! It was truly so thoughtful for everyone to come celebrate our special day! The surprises kept coming and I’m still on Cloud 9!
